Program Description:
Inventor software is the standard in 3D design and mechanical engineering at thousands of companies worldwide. Engineers, designers and CAD technicians create 3D models and 2D drawings ranging from individual parts to assemblies with thousands of parts.

Program outcomes include:
• Design products for manufacture using 2D and 3D standards
• Apply orthographic CAD design procedures to working drawings
• Perform advanced CAD software applications
• Create a capstone design project incorporating advanced CAD and industrial/mechanical applications

CADE14403Inventor IThis course covers the basic areas of Computer Aided Design using Inventor three dimensional software. The student will sketch various models and then edit the features and apply appropriate dimensions and annotations. The creation of final drawings with necessary views will also be learned. (Prerequisites: ENGL0460, MATH0450, READ0465, or concurrent enrollment) (2 hrs lec/2 hrs lab/0 hrs OJT)
CADE14423Inventor IIThis course covers the intermediate areas of Computer Aided Design such as designing and analyzing parts within an assembly using Inventor three dimensional software. The student will create and edit assemblies and subassemblies from previously engineered parts. Also explored and learned will be bills of material, sheet metal designs, and patterns. CADE14503Mechanical DetailsThis course covers engineering Computer Aided Design procedures as applied to a variety of manufacturing and industrial situations. The student will additionally learn systems of drawing integration to product definition. (Prerequisites: INMG1410 or instructor's consent) (2 hrs lec/2 hrs lab/0 hrs OJT)
CADE24743Inventor Design ProjectThis course covers project completion incorporating total learning experiences into a workable, economical design. Engineering Computer Aided Design procedures will be utilized within the Inventor three dimensional software platform. (Prerequisites: CADE1442 or concurrent) (2 hrs lec/2 hrs lab/0 hrs OJT)
INMG14103Mechanical Blueprint ReadingThis course covers mechanical blueprint reading principles. Topics included are sketching, lines, views, multiview drawings, scaling, dimensioning, tolerancing, and symbols. (Prerequisites: ENGL0460, MATH0450, READ0465, or concurrent) (3 hrs lec/0 hrs lab/0 hrs OJT)

Pre-Program Requirements:
Successful entry into this program requires a specific level of skill in the areas of English, mathematics, and reading. Program entry will depend, in part, on meeting the prerequisites listed below:

English:
• A score of 86 or higher on the Sentence Skills portion of the CPT, OR
• Completion of ENGL0460 or its equivalent transfer course or higher.
• If required, ENGL0460 may be taken concurrently with Semester I coursework.
Mathematics:
• A score of 36 or higher on the Elementary Algebra Skills portion of the CPT, OR
• Completion of MATH0450 or its equivalent transfer course or higher.
• If required, MATH0450 may be taken concurrently with Semester I coursework.
Reading:
• A score of 78 or higher on the Reading Comprehension portion of the CPT, OR
• Completion of READ0465 or its equivalent transfer course or higher.
• If required, READ0465 may be taken concurrently with Semester I coursework.

NOTE: This Advanced Inventor certificate is intended for people who are already in a manufacturing related field or who have earned a certificate, diploma, or degree in a manufacturing related program of study.
